When can I check in?

Check-in is from 3pm, on the day of arrival. If you arrive before this time, we will do our best to accommodate any early arrivals, where possible.

 

Where do I check in / Where is reception located? 

We have a dedicated 24/7 reception for our summer guests, located in the heart of the UCD Village. Click here for a printable PDF map of UCD Belfield Campus.

 

When do I have to check out?

The check out time is 11am on the day of departure. Unfortunately we are unable to offer late check-outs, as we need to get the room ready for the next guest.

 

Does UCD offer luggage storage? 

Yes, if you need us to store your luggage for a few hours before you can check in to your room or after check out before you depart, that is no issue.  We can store your luggage at reception. 

 

Does UCD offer a laundry service?

There are self-service launderettes on campus, near the accommodation with several washing machines and dryers.  Laundry washing facilities cost €3 and dryer facilities cost €1.50 per load.

 

Do I have to bring my own bed-linen?

No. Bedlinen is provided and changed weekly.

 

What food & drink options are available at UCD?

UCD has many options on-campus for food & drinks, some are located next to the reception in the Village Food Hall (https://thefoodhallatucdvillage.ie/) and other alternatives are located around the campus.

The Clubhouse Bar is located near the UCD sports centre and the Local Bar is located in the Village Food Hall.

 

Does UCD offer currency exchange?

No, we do not offer this service.

 

Are pets permitted at UCD?

Although we love pets, they are not allowed in the accommodation, except for guide or assistance dogs.

 

Is Wi-Fi available at UCD?

Yes, we offer free Wi-Fi to all guests and visitors of UCD. 

 

Are the bedrooms in the accommodation in UCD air-conditioned?

No, the bedrooms in UCD are not air-conditioned.

 

What is UCD smoking / vape policy?

Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside the rooms, apartments or buildings.

UCD is a smoke-free campus, smoking or vaping is not allowed on campus. 

 

Can I park a car while staying at UCD?

Yes, complimentary car parking for residents of  UCD for the duration of their stay. Subject to availability, operated on a first come first served basis, pre-booking is not possible.  

 

Do UCD room prices include VAT?

Yes, all online rates are inclusive of VAT, unless otherwise stated. 

 

Are there any age restrictions for booking a room at UCD?

All guests must be 18 years or older, if travelling alone.

 

Is the campus safe?

Yes. Dublin is a safe city by international standards, and our university is set in a leafy suburban area on the outskirts of the city. 24-hour security patrols by friendly but vigilant professionals make sure that the campus environment is as safe and secure as possible. Monitored CCTV around the campus also adds an extra layer of security.

 

Is UCD close to Dublin city centre?

Yes, we are about three miles/ five kilometers from the heart of Dublin, and numerous bus routes from our campus whisk you into the city in twenty minutes. You are also just a half-hour from the Dublin mountains, and a similar distance from some beautiful Irish beaches.

 

What about the sports and leisure facilities?

Apart from having over 325 acres of beautiful parkland, UCD has tremendous sports facilities, including an Olympic-sized swimming pool, countless playing pitches, and a fully-equipped gym.The access to the gym and pool area is by membership only.
